Mapping in the cloud: Cutting Edge Geospatial Technologies with Google Tools
Are you interested in creating quick interactive maps to accompany your research or story? Will you be doing field work and don’t have a high-end GPS to collect your data? Is your department or lab handling large amounts of geospatial data and would benefit from a cloud environment? Do you need to do remote sensing analysis and would like to take seconds instead of hours to run your tools?
If your answer is yes or you are just interested in keeping up with new spatial technologies, then we have a free workshop you will find very interesting.
Students, researchers, faculty and scientists who regularly work with geospatial data are encouraged to attend this workshop. You will gain hands-on introductory experience with many of Google’s Geo cloud tools such as Google Earth Engine and Google Maps Engine.
The workshop is divided into two main sessions: an introductory one in the morning and an intermediate in the afternoon. If you are planning on attending just the afternoon session, you must have an intermediate-to-advanced technical experience in GIS and/or Remote Sensing.
